1. How much spending money will I need during the program?
  • Students should budget $100-$200 for textbooks.
  • Since all meals are paid for, students should budget for incidentals (laundry, snacks, detergents/shampoo, bus tickets to Chicago or Madison, and the occasional movie ticket).
  • Students may want to budget some money for cultural excursions; however, the cost of transportation, food, and tickets is generally covered by the program.

2. Where can I cash a check or traveller’s checks?

  • The Beloit College Accounting Office, located on the second floor of Pearsons Hall.

3. Will stores in Beloit accept an out-of-state check?

  • Most stores in the Beloit area accept out-of-state checks.
  • Some stores in the Beloit area will not accept checks numbered less than 500.
  • Most stores accept debit cards now so that checks may not be the most convenient way to shop in Beloit.
